Second victory in Germany: Tetak wins Fairway Labs Open
Fairway Labs Open 2024
Slovakian Tadeas Tetak (-17) shines with a 64 (-7) in the final of the Fairway Labs Open at the highly acclaimed Schloss Langenstein Country Club, winning his second title on the Pro Golf Tour. Robin Smiciklas, Linus Lang, Jacob Jorgensen and Jean Bekirian share second place on twelve under par.
Orsingen-Nenzingen, Germany – The final round of the Fairway Labs Open at Schloss Langenstein Country Club was exciting for a long time - then Tadeas Tetak fired the turbo on the back nine. Within four holes, the Slovakian had pulled away from the competition and left no doubt that he would be crowned champion near Konstanz. “It wasn't all good, but I saved it this week with my putter,” said Tetak, analyzing his performance after the final round. “So I'm very happy with my performance.”
The putter really ran hot between holes 13 and 16, when Tetak recorded four birdies in a row. His pursuers were unable to keep up with this intermediate spurt and the 24-year-old won thanks to rounds of 64, 68 and another 64 strokes with a total score of -17. Five points behind him were four players in a tie for second place: Robin Smiciklas, Linus Lang (both Germany), Jacob Jorgensen (Denmark) and Jean Bekirian (France).

Order of Merit of the 2024 Season
For Tetak, the victory at the Fairway Labs Open was his second success on the Pro Golf Tour. He celebrated his first in 2023 at the Riedhof Open. The fact that he won both titles on German soil is no coincidence. “I have to admit, I always play quite well in Germany,” explained the winner. “In my opinion, the courses I've been successful on are the most beautiful we play on. If I compare this course with Riedhof, they are quite similar. I didn't play a lot of driver, I just put the ball in play.”
The first win of the season had already been in the offing. Tetak had already reached the top 3 twice in Egypt. “The game was in good condition. I didn't think too much and didn't let bad shots upset me.” Not playing a practice round at Schloss Langenstein Country Club did not affect Tetak's form either. This was probably also due to the fact that all the players found the course in perfect condition. “The greens were great and very pure,” enthused Tetak. “The course was in great condition and the weather was fantastic. The food was great and the organization was outstanding. I can't say anything bad about this week.”
Last year, his first on the Pro Golf Tour, Tetak finished sixth in the Order of Merit. He therefore missed out on promotion by a wafer-thin margin. Although this annoyed him, it also showed him that he has the game to finish in the top 5. “You just have to play well and know that golf is a crazy game.”
Before continuing with the Dutch Swing in mid-August, the winner of the Fairway Labs Open is taking some time out: “I'm going to visit my sister in Milan and take the weekend off. The golf clubs will go into the garage and won't be touched.” The next tournament is the Staan Open from August 15 to 17.
