Munich ─ "We're very happy to be able to offer the players a balanced tournament calendar again with numerous national and international tournaments," says Rainer Goldrian, Managing Director of the Pro Golf Tour. After the seven tournaments for the season opening in January, February and March in Egypt and Morocco (see press release 28-2014) there are three more events in Morocco on the calendar first of all. The Open Casa Green Golf from 14 to 16 April in Casablanca is on the tournament programme for the first time, as is the Open Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia, which is taking place from 20 to 22 April in Mohammedia. The Pro Golf Tour 2014 Morocco series ends with the Open Madaef (26 to 28 April) in El Jadida.

As has become tradition, the tour then continues in Austria in May: at the Haugschlag NÖ Open the golfers are playing for EUR 30,000 prize money from 27 to 29 May; the same amount is also being offered afterwards at the Adamstal Open powered by EURAM Bank AG (1 to 3 June). Just three days later there's another newcomer on the tour schedule: from 6 to 8 June the Pro Golf Tour is a guest for the first time at the St. Pölten Pro Golf Tour at the Austrian St. Pölten GC. "In the interest of the players we have made sure that we have created a schedule that stretches the travel budget as little as possible due to cheap routes," says Rainer Goldrian. All the tournaments are also ideally coordinated with the European Tour, Challenge Tour and HDI German PGA Championship calendars so that the tournament venues are all easy to reach and players have the option of taking part in all leagues as far as the dates are concerned.

With the Gut Bissenmoor Classic in Bad Bramstedt having been added to the Pro Golf Tour tournaments in Germany for the first time in 2014 and it experiencing its second edition this year (16 to 18 July) as a result of the excellent feedback from players and the golf club, the Sparkassen Open 2015 at the Bochum golf club is joining the series for the first time this year (10 to 12 August). The CEEVEE Leather Open at Glashofen-Neusaß GC (14 to 16 June), the Praforst Pro Golf Tour Fulda (10 to 12 July), the Augsburg Classic (17 to 19 August) and the Hardenberg GolfResort Prize (30 August to 1 September) established tournaments are still on board. The German series of the Pro Golf Tour 2015 is briefly interrupted by the LOTOS Polish Open in Gdansk where the players tee off from 27 to 29 July at the well-known Sierra Golf Club from 2006 and 2007.

While 20 of the Pro Golf Tour 2015 tournaments are endowed with EUR 30,000 each, EUR 50,000 is up for grabs at the grand season final. For the first time, the season final will be organised at the Golfresort Adendorf in the town of the same name near Hamburg; the grand 2015 season final starts there from 28 to 30 September with the Castanea Resort Pro Golf Tour Championship. The resort will be the venue for the final Order of Merit tournament this year and for the next two years after which the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit winner and rankings are determined. The last tournament of 2015, the Pro Golf Tour Qualifying School for the 2016 season, takes place in the in October as was already the case in the 2014 season, the exact date and venue are still to be announced.

650,000 EUR prize money

The Pro Golf Tour, founded in 1997, is starting its 19th year in 2015. EUR 650,000 of prize money is being distributed to participating tour golfers between January and September at 21 Order of Merit tournaments in five countries. PGA of Germany is the tour's majority shareholder, other partners are Langer Sport Marketing GmbH as a shareholder and the Deutsche Golf Verband (German Golf Association). The Pro Golf Tour is recognised by the European Tour as a gate to the Challenge Tour and is therefore one of four official satellite tours. That means: anyone who occupies one of the top rankings in the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit at the end of the season is authorised to play on the European Challenge Tour the following year. The best players are also exempt from stage 1 of the European Tour Qualifying School and therefore have already overcome the first hurdle on their way to the European Tour.
