Casablabca/Morocco − For Nicolas Meitinger who grew up in Cologne and lives in Munich since a few years it is his 12th trophy of his professional career. In 2008 he had already made the move from the Pro Golf Tour to the European Challenge Tour and now he will try to earn full second league playing rights via the Pro Golf Tour again.

The base of his success at the inaugural Open Casa Green Golf tournament on the ourskirts of Casablanca in Morocco was his 66 opening round on the first day of the event when he played some fabulous golf especially around the green and made quite a few very good putts to finally sign seven birdies and just one bogey that day. On the third and last day of the 30,000 euro tournament he made just the same again and scored another round 66 - good enough to ease out the 75 strokes of the second round when stormy winds made him struggle a little bit.

"I have been practicing very hard over the last weeks", Meitinger said after receiving the trophy, "and it is really good that it paid off in such a great way!"

In the final round the 31 year old had an intense competition with his playing partner Ben Parker, an Englishman who lives in Hamburg in Germany. Parker was in the lead most of the time but with a bogey three putt on the final hole he dropped a shot and missed a possible play-off with finally sharing second place.

"The Pro Golf Tour provides excellent courses and organisation", Meitinger said, "and it is a great opportunity to prepare for the Challenge Tour." Reason enough for the German to also compete at the Open Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia which starts in Morocco next Monday.
