Ain Sokhna/Egypt – Final day. The 18th green of the Sokhna Golf Club. Jeremy Paul needed two strokes so far on the 335 meter par 4. Seven meters separate him from his first professional win and he knows that he must score with the first putt. „The pressure was very high, especially after I had played bogey twice before. I could recognize the leaderboard and see that if I play par there’s going to be a three-man playoff“, Paul said. But the putt went straight into the hole and shortly after the German received the trophy.

Jeremy Paul made his way up to the top of the leaderboard during round 2 and shared it with Polish Mateusz Gradecki. The two leaders started together into the final round on Wednesday morning 9:30 am. But while Gradecki needed 75 strokes on the par-72 course the German scored six birdies. But since he had to note a bogey on hole 14 and 16 Raffaele Benatti from Italy and Scotsman Craig Howie also positioned themeselves on the first rank in the meantime. It was the last putt that made him the winner of the tournament. Also he captured the lead in the Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit with a total 5400,6 ranking points.

The Red Sea Ain Sokhna Classic was the second tournament this season the Pro Golf Tour hosted at the perfectly prepared Sokhna Golf Club. The combination of three several nine-hole-courses received positive feedback by the players: „The course demands very precise shots, and you need to hit an aggressive line towards the flag. And the greens are difficult as well, very fast. It’s where the decision is made who’s leaving the course as a winner“, Jeremy Paul said about the resort close to the border of the Red Sea.

The players can take a break for about a week until the first out of three „Morocco-blocks“ will beginn with the Open Prestigia in Casablanca. The tournament will take place from February 4 to 6 on two different courses, the „The Tony Jacklin“ and the Palmeraie Country Club.
